The Historical Research Center offers a number of services for researchers. They include: standard genealogy or history query, furniture or toy query, cemetery or gravestone photo, Register of Deeds research, obituary look-ups and foreign language translation. Each of these services has its own page with further specifics.


As you visit the Historical Research Center you will find a number of other services available.  

You may use the facility's copying machines for all documents except State of Wisconsin vital statisitcs. Copying Vital Statistics is prohibited by law with a fine of up to $10,000 possible if prosecuted.

"The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies of copyrighted material.  The person using this equipment is liable for any infringement." 
 
Copies
Each 8 1/2 x 11 and 8 1/2 x 14 are $0.25 per copy. Oversized paper is $0.50 per copy.
Color copies - $1.00/page per copy.
   
Photographic Department- The Research Center has a photographic collection of over 500,000 prints, negatives and slides. All are numbered and cross referenced for quick identification.

Foreign Language Translation - Cost is $30.00 per hour.  There is a minimum charge of $15.00.
These translations are done out of house and at our volunteers convenience.
