Wasserman Collection

Eugene Wasserman Archive / Project Files
This flat file archive represents 19 years of Eugene Wasserman‘s projects from approximately 1951-1970. The collection is representative of the work of an award winning architect effectively blending mid-century modernism to Wisconsin sensibilities.

The jobs are numbered from 104 to 474. We estimate approximately 350 projects. 60+% of the projects were located in the Sheboygan area, 30+/-% in Madison or the State, and the remainder in the Midwest and East Coast.

Project files media include yellow trace, vellum, and mylars, possibly some linen. Work includes Schematic through Working Drawings, including handsome pencil value studies/sketches of perspectives and elevations. Project documentation contained in these files is typified by well worked out extensive details, including window (often full or half size), casework, fascia, and handsome perspective sketches that range from (macro) overall building view to (micro) counter top freehand axons.

Some additional files for projects predate the 1951 move to Wisconsin. Some shop drawings in separate banker boxes (8-10) for some jobs are also available. Some Stamped and Permitted archive blue print and blue line sets for above jobs are also available (80cuft)

While the Wasserman family wants to make this information accessible, and encourage its publication, the family will require that any publication request be documented in writing and must receive permission in writing from both the holding institution and from the family prior to that publication. Proper credit to the holding institution and to Eugene Wasserman will be required.
