About Us

The Sheboygan County Historical Research Center specializes in the preservation and storage of written records of all of Sheboygan County and the surrounding area.

It is a private, non-profit archive, but it is also a family history center filled with information that turns the past into something much more than dates and statistics.  This archive isn't filled with boxes covered in dust, it's filled with warm, curious researchers and friends who are always willing to share their stories with you and, in turn, help you discover yours.

The Historical Research Center is built on nearly thirty years of dedication by thousands of volunteers giving tens of thousands of hours of their time to create the best organized research center in the area.  It is a hands-on archive where everything is available to the public at all times. We welcome you on your quest. We will do our best to help you. All we ask is that you care for the information and resources you use and treat them respecfully.

Keep in mind, as you use this wonderful facility, that the Historical Research Center is funded primarily by memberships and donations. It is not supported by county tax dollars. Please remember this as you use our services.

Information you find at the Historical Research Center is for private use only. Copyright laws and State of Wisconsin public information laws apply.
